Book Week 2020

We had a fantastic time this year celebrating all that is brilliant about reading! Our focus text was Mary Poppins and the children spent the week learning about the story, delving into their own imaginations and creating chalk pictures of new and exciting worlds to jump into. 

We celebrated World Book Day by inviting the children to dress up as their favourite story book characters and once again the children didn't disappoint. From The Twits to Matilda, Gangster Granny to Cinderella, the children came in dressed as book characters of all shapes and sizes. Throughout the week they enjoyed the opportunity to simply stop and read, something that in our busy day to day lives we don't often get to do.

We were also lucky enough to be joined by author, illustrator and pop-up book engineer Paul Stickland. He shared with the children his passion for drawing, his engaging story telling and showed them how to create their very own dinosaur! He was most impressed by the children's creativity and total lack of inhibitions. They were a credit to us as always and haven't stopped talking about 'the dinosaur man' since! Once again i would like to thank you all for your support and participation in such a great week. Sharing it with your children is a huge privilege.
