Fox Class 2022-2023

Welcome to the Fox Class Page.

On this page you will be able to find out what we have been learning in school. This term our driver for learning is “Leaves and Trees”. We will be finding out all about Autumn and Greta Thunberg. We are very excited to share our learning with you.

Our P.E. day is Friday. Please remember to bring in named clothing and footwear for this activities. We will be visiting the library on a Friday.

Week beginning 24th April 2023 - We have begun our new theme for this half term. We are learning all about mini-beasts. Some caterpillars have come to say with us and we have been learning all about them. There are some photos below of some of the mini-beast fun we have had.

Week Beginning 13th March 2023 - We have been continuing our theme around birds and this migration this week. We have learnt about where birds go and why. We have also been learning all about David Attenborough and what he does to help wildlife such as birds. Below are some photos of a few activities we have done this week including mapping the flight of birds, making clay models and there is also a picture of us enjoying the windy day earlier in the week with some kite flying.

Week beginning 30th January - We have doing our bit to help the birds this week. After doing the Big Garden Bird Watch for the RSPB we have been feeding the birds and preparing some houses for them to make nests in.

Week beginning 23st January - We have continued to learn about winter this week and have been looking at what can be grown this time of year. As it is January we can start to plant some flowers ready for the spring. We have put some seeds in pots and put them in our propagator so they will hopefully germinate.

Week beginning 16th January - We are continuing to learn about winter and how it effects our close environment and the animals within it. Below you can see us exploring our winter surroundings and going on a scavenger hunt.

Week beginning 9th January 2023 - What a wet and windy week it has been in Foxes! Just the way we like it. We have started our hibernation and woodland creatures topic this week. We have begun to learn what hibernation is and why animals do it as well as how the winter effects woodland animals. Below you will see some pictures of some giant bird nest we made.

Week beginning 7th November 2022 - We have started our autumn topic this week. We have been learning about what happens in autumn and why. We have also had some fun along the way...

Week beginning 31st October 2022 - It was Arts Week! We learnt all about Diwali, the festival of light. We danced, made clay models, painted and much more. What a brilliant week.

Week beginning 17th October - We went exploring and found the cure for Granny Wood! Everything we learnt about being an explorer this half term really helped. We had to survive sharks, a leaky boat, Mr Wood falling in the sea and even being attacked by a monkey! It was quite the day.

Week beginning 10th October - We have been continuing to look at explorers this week, but we have looked at space exploration. We have learnt all about Neil Armstrong so ask your child to tell you some facts about him.

Week beginning 3rd October 2022 - We received a letter back from Bear Grylls who told us how to be better explorers. One of the things he said we needed to get better at is making maps and map reading. We had a go at mapping our school grounds. There are some pictures below.

Week beginning the 26th September - Granny Wood is still unwell so we have been explorers looking for the cure. We decided we didn't know enough about how to be an explorer so we have written and posted a letter to Bear Grylls asking for tips on how to be a great explorer. Fingers crossed he is able to help us...

Week beginning the 19th of September - We have continued to be explorers this week. Granny Wood has not been very well so we have been exploring the school to find the cure for her. We haven't found it so far. Below are some photos of a Scavenger Hunt we did when looking for the cure for Granny. Look what we did find...

Week beginning the 12th September 2022 - We have become explorers! We are exploring our new class and the environment around us. Have a look at the photos below of us building dens, playing hide and seek and looking closely at the things we found.
