  • What a busy half term!

Sun 25 Oct 2015 Miss Cox

Well...what a busy half term it has been! You will see that I have edited the slideshow on the front of the website to reflect some of the fantastic opportunities our children have experienced this half term...

The culmination of our Key Stage One topic about the Great Fire of London was a visit from Samuel Pepys who was able to help us put out the fire that started in the King's Bakery in Pudding Lane. We used fire squirts, we made a water chain from the River Thames, and eventually made a fire break.

All Key Stage One classes now have their very own role play lofts which give us a larger space to develop the children's learning, speaking & listening, and social skills. We were all very excited to see Samuel Pepys' house, the King's bakery and the River Thames develop. When I left school on Friday they were all set up for our new topic - St. Lucia - I won't spoil the surprise by posting pictures before the children return but keep checking back after half term!

Year R have visited the local David Wilson Homes building site - we all had the chance the operate the digger, build a wall as well as tour the site. The children were all equipped with a high vis jacket and hard hats - a huge thank you to David Wilson Homes for accommodating all 120 Year R pupils across the day!

Thursday saw us run our very own Race for Life - all the children across the school ran the race to raise funds for Cancer Research. We will presenting all the children with their medals in a special ceremony after half term.

We look forward to all that next half term brings...have a lovely holiday.

    Kind Regards

    Miss Cox
