  Deefur has now been at home with me for just over 1 week. We have been learning to follow commands. Deefur can come when called, sit and is working hard on learning to 'lie down'. We have been visiting lots of people and children so Deefur is ready for September. We have also visited school so she knows what is like. • Y1 & Y2 Coasts Day

  On Friday 12th July Year 1 and 2 will be having a Coasts day. This will include lots of fun activities including visiting our own beach, playing in paddling pools and playing beach games. 

  The children will need:

  • To be dressed in beach clothing
  • To bring a swimming costume and a towel
  • To have sun cream applied before they come into school. 

• Pyjamarama Day

  On Friday 7th June we will be celebrating Pyjamarama Day. For a donation of £1 we will all be coming into school dressed in our PJs to celebrate the joy of sharing a book together; especially at bedtime! The money raised will help the BookTrust ensure that every child gets a bed time story. 

• World War II Day 1st April 2019

  To further enhance the childrens learning we are having a World War Two day on 1st April 2019. We are inviting all Y1 and Y2 parents and carers to come between 8.40am and 9.00am to wave goodbye to their children as they are evacuated! During this time you will help your child to write and attach their address label to their gas mask boxes before they leave. To encourage the children to be in role for the day we are asking them to dress up as an evacuee.

  We will be welcoming Petr Horacek author of Puffin Peter and The Lonely Penguin on Friday 1st March. As well as working with the children throughout the day, there will also be an opportunity to buy signed copies of his book in the school hall at the end of the day. 

   

• World Book Day Thursday 28th February

  On Thursday 28th February we will be celebrating World Book Day and invite your child to come to school dressed up as a character from one of their favourite books. It would be fantastic if the children could also bring in their book to share with the other children in their class. 

• Monday 4th February school open at normal time. Please stay on gritted paths and go carefully :-)

  School is open at normal time. We checked the site yesterday and again this morning and because the snow was cleared on Friday the pathways are clear but please stick to the pathways and take extra care, Best wishes, Miss Cox
