Tuesday 7th July
Hello wonderful Grasshoppers,
You worked so hard yesterday and posted some amazing pictures and videos on Tapestry. They were amazing to see and made us very proud of you all.
Your writing about your favourite toy was super and you did really well stretching the words you used. You were amazing at writing your numbers and counting all the way up to 20. Your bus journeys took you to different places and you were very good bus drivers on your numbered bus. Perhaps some of you would like to be a bus driver when you grow up.
Literacy carries on with the story ‘Toys in Space’ and today we would like you to watch the video. What is your favourite bedtime story? Please write some sentences explaining why it is your favourite story. Is it a funny story that makes you laugh or is it a fairy story with a happy ever after ending? We’d love to hear all about it and see your writing on Tapestry.
Maths is continuing with division or sharing and today we are counting in 2’s. There is a template for you to fill in.
Your topic on journeys is about hot air balloons today and there is a video for you to watch. Have you ever seen a hot air balloon in the sky over Basingstoke? Can you design your own hot air balloon? We’d love to see them, the brightest the better so they can be seen up in the sky.
On Education City there are different activities for you to try so please log on and see how you get on. Remember that Tigger is waiting to be awarded to the class with the most of you who log on.
Remember to keep reading as many times as you can during the week and ask your adult to keep a note of this so you can tell your teacher. Your name may be on the school website if you achieve the Bronze, Silver or Gold award. We are all very proud of you all and all your achievements.
Remember to have fun, keep safe and look after yourselves and always listen very carefully to your adults.
We miss you all and we are very proud of you and what you are achieving.
Miss Foulkes and Mrs Claxson :)
Watch the story of ‘Toys in Space’.
Wonder Doll was very clever and told all the other toys a story to help them stop feeling scared. Do you have a favourite bedtime story? We wonder what it is. Write or record some sentences about your favourite story book. Why is it your favourite? What makes it such a good story? Remember to use the tools in your Writer’s Pack to help you build and write a super sentence.
Watch the video of ‘The hot air balloon ride’. Look at all the different colours and patterns on the balloon. Can you design your own hot air balloon that you could float in?
Today we are going to continue to learning how to count in sets of 2.
You have a template sheet to help you.
Can you track the numbers with your finger and say the numbers as you count.
Once Upon a time...
This half term our topic is Once Upon a time, we are very excited to be learning about different traditional tales. We will be reading lots of different stories and learning all about them.
