Badger Class 2020-2021

Welcome to Badger Class.

On this page you will be able to find out what we have been doing in school. We have P.E. on a Thursday afternoon and Forest School on a Tuesday afternoon.

This week in computing we have been exploring making algorithms and debugging them using the Bee-Bots. We had so much fun!

We had a wonderful week enjoying all things sport. We split into two teams; the amazing oranges and the blazing blacks. In our teams we made banners, flags and a chant for sports day. The children really enjoyed there sports afternoon and behaved beautifully.

We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day today, the costumes were amazing and the children worked super hard on our activities both in school and at home.
I am so proud of all the children doing their learning at home, you are all amazing. Here are some of the things you have been doing.

Home learning week of 1st February

In school this week......

Home learning this week:

Well done Badgers, a great week of home learning and inschool learning. I am super proud and you've all worked so hard.
We had a lovely day in school today enjoying Castles day. We did lots of fun activities including writing with quills, medieval dancing, learning about shields, jousting and sewing. The children also enjoyed a banquet at lunchtime.
This week in Forest School we enjoyed getting muddy in the mud kitchen and trying to get a spark as the dragons breath!

We had a great day raising money for Children in Need last week.

We have had a lovely Arts week thinking about all things ‘Circus’. The children have had a wonderful time being creative and exploring the topic.

Below is a recorded copy of the Year One Curriculum Evening presentation. Please excuse the lines across the slides; unfortunately one of the attendees accidently drew on the presentation!

Curriculum Evening Powerpoint

This week we came back to the class and something had made a big mess! The children had fun guessing what it might be looking at the huge footprints. They collaged some pictures of a wild thing as we have been reading the book ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. In RE we thought about special clothes and they created some special outfits of their own.

Badgers week so far....

Our week in Badger class....

We have had a lovely week thinking about bigger and smaller in maths and comparing different numbers. In literacy the children have been following and writing instructions and they had a wonderful time sketching castles in art. Another super week in Badger Class.
It has been so lovely welcoming back all the children in Badger class this week and getting to know everyone. The children are settling into the new routine of Year One really well. Here are a few photos of what we have been doing so far.
