Today was Coast Day at school. We had a great day pretending to relax on the beach, playing in the sand, going to a Punch and Judy show and much more! We also loved having our parents in to to help with some coats crafts! We also went to the Marnel ice cream parlour and got to choose toppings, sauce and sprinkles for our own ice cream!

What a super day we’ve had at Lee-on-the-Solent! We spent time learning about compass points, meeting the coastguards and exploring the beach!

We absolutely loved our special treat today! The funfair came to school and we loved going on all of the rides and having a brilliant day with all of our friends!

We had a brilliant day celebrating the Coronation of King Charles. We enjoyed creating our own crowns, writing poems, decorating our classroom and enjoying a royal picnic with our families!

When we came in from the Golden Mile, we found rubbish all over our carpet! After careful investigating, we found a crab stuck in a piece of the rubbish. We thought about the impact of pollution and have started to read the story of ‘Clem and Crab’.

It’s been great to be back in school after the holidays. This week has been Sports Week and we have enjoyed preparing in our teams and also learning about how to lead healthy and active lives!

We have had a great time celebrating Easter! Our adults came in to help us decorate eggs, we went on a very exciting hunt to find chocolate eggs and then made baskets to put our chocolate eggs in!

Today we were evacuated! We spent the day as evacuees and learnt about what life would have been like for them.

We had a great time dressing up in red for comic relief today!

We absolutely loved playing out in the snow today, what a fun start to our day!

This week has been Book Week. On Friday we celebrated World Book Day and all dressed up as our favourite book character. We spent the day creating our own stories in our very own books, reading in all sorts of places and much more more!

As part of Book Week, we created puppets for DT. We made puppets of different animals and did a great job! Afterwards, we performed a puppet show to the class.

This Friday, we enjoyed celebrating our very own ‘Coronation day’. We spent the day taking part in a range of royal activities, creating bunting for our royal party lunch and we even witnessed our very own coronation!

We enjoyed wearing our pyjamas and raising money for Children in Need this Friday!

What a brilliant Arts Week we have had! The theme of this years Arts Week was Diwali and we have loved learning about the festival through art, dance and music.

In literacy this week we have been helping poet Shirley Hughes write some new poems for her latest poetry book! We then recited and performed them to the class!

This week we have been preparing to write non chronological reports about Portchester Castle. We worked together to collate our research.

We had the best day exploring Portchester Castle on our school trip this week. We loved finding out about the castle and exploring the local area.

This week we walked to Basing Woods and looked for signs of seasonal change!

It’s been great getting back to our Forest School sessions this week!

This week we were shocked to discover an abandoned party in our classroom! It turns out it was Billy and the dragon! We have enjoyed beginning to explore the text this week.

As part of our Belonging Week, we created our class charter that is displayed in our classroom.

What a brilliant start to Year 2 we have had this week. We have loved getting to know our new class mates and explore our new classroom too!
