Maths homework
There will be math's homework set on 'Education City' each week. The children should have a log in for this at the back of their reading record, if you don't have one please see me and i'll be happy to give you another.
PE
Our PE day is on a Monday, please ensure children have a full PE kit in school including trainers so they can join in with the 'Golden Mile'.
Forest School
Forest School is every Thursday afternoon, please make sure children have a full change of clothes which are suitable to get wet and muddy so they can fully participate in all the activities. Thank you
Library
Children will be able to change their library book every Tuesday, please ensure they return their book each week so they can change their library book each week.
School trip to Lee on Solent
We had a wonderful but rainy trip to Lee on Solent this week as part of our Coasts topic. The children had a great time playing beach games, making art in the style of Andy Goldsworthy, exploring the beach, looking for human and physical features and of course eating ice cream! They have learnt so much and will be writing a recount if he trip in Literacy next week.
Class visitors!
June 2019
As part of our science and outdoor learning week we welcomed some little, wriggly critters into our classroom in the form of 5 caterpillars. We are eagerly awaiting the transformation from caterpillar into butterflies. The children keep any eye on them we talk about changes we notice.

May 2019
Today we had a visit from Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue. The children learnt about the role of the lifeboat rescue team and how to keep safe in and near the water.
World Book Day 2019
February 2019
We really enjoyed welcoming all the parents into our classroom last week in our parent event. The children and parents really enjoyed making 'gas mask' boxes as part of our WW2 topic. The children followed a set of instructions.

Week beginning 7th January
We had a surprise visitor in class this week as we found footprints in our classroom. There was a note and a book saying 'read me'. The book was the 'Gruffalo' so the children have enjoyed retelling the story this week and thinking about the descriptive language they could use. They will be writing their own versions of the story next week.
Christmas
The children had a lovely last day of term with a tinsel trail, a visit from Father Christmas's reindeer's and a special trip to his grotto. Magical!
Week beginning 26th November
The children had a lovely time learning a Tudor dance in PE this week. They learnt a whole class routine and then added their own elements in small groups. They had so much fun!

Children in Need
The children really enjoyed coming to school wearing their pyjamas on Friday to help raise money for children in need. They enjoyed lots of different activities including showcasing their talents in a talent show.

Forest School
We had a great time in forest school making dens, looking for bugs, creating habitats for woodland animals and collecting natural objects to out in our special bags.
Arts week
The children in Hedgehog class became 'Catherine Wheel' class for our firework themed arts week. The children have had so much fun doing a range of art, music and PE lessons this week including making edible sparklers, clay tiles, firework dancing and creating a soundtrack for a firework display.
Our trip to Porchester Castle
We had a fabulous trip to Porchester Castle. The children were able to see all the features that they have been learning about in class as well as climb to the top of Keep. They really enjoyed exploring the castle grounds and even took part in a spot of jousting!
Fire Service visit
The children had a wonderful time learning all about fire safety and getting the opportunity to go inside the fire engine and even squirt the hose!
