- Comparing the lives and achievements of Queen Elizabeth II and Queen Victoria
- King Charles III and the changes we will see as a result of his accession to the throne.
Our P.E. day is Tuesday and Forest School is on a Wednesday afternoon. Please remember to bring in named clothing and footwear for these activities.
Year One Curriculum Evening Presentation
We learnt all about air raid sirens and we even had a go at making our own and responding to the siren.
We had a great Forest School session. We even had a go at starting our own fire.
Today we had the fire service come in to visit. They taught us how to stay safe and what to do in an emergency.
We had a race to see who could dress up as a fire fighter the quickest!

Today we had a very special visitor come in and tell us all about WW2. We had such a fun time, we even got to wear some WW2 costumes.
We had a great last day celebrating Christmas as a class. We followed a trail of tinsel and met reindeer and saw Father Christmas at the end.
We have loved decorating our classroom for Christmas.
Coronation Day
We had a great trip to the woods.
We enjoyed drawing the signs of Autumn on the playground.
On Monday we found a large present for Year 1. It was a giant crown and the smartest giant in town needed our help to write instructions to make a crown for King Charles. We all made our own crowns and wrote instructions of how to make one.
Children in Need.
In forest school today we made dens for wooden people and used mirrors to look at the sky.
We loved den building, knot tying and playing games during Forest School today.
This week was Arts Week and we have been learning all about Diwali! In art we have been designing our own mehndi, rangoli and diva lamps. In music we have been learning all about Indian drumming and composing our own music. In PE we were lucky and had some visitors in to teach us Indian dancing!
We loved our parents coming in to paint our diva lamps.
We loved our dance workshop. We retold the story of Rama and Sita through dance.
We clapped rhythms.
